Domestic Assistance supports people who need help with everyday household tasks to continue living safely and independently in their own home. At Smyth Support, we provide reliable, respectful assistance tailored to individual needs, routines, and preferences.
This service is available to NDIS participants, aged care clients, and private clients, and is delivered in line with approved support plans and individual goals.

Domestic assistance is focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and functional living environment. Depending on the client’s needs, this service may include:
General household cleaning
Cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, bedrooms, and common spaces.
Laundry assistance
Washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linen.
Dishwashing and kitchen upkeep
Cleaning dishes, benches, sinks, and maintaining hygienic food preparation areas.
Changing bed linen
Making beds and changing sheets as required.
Rubbish and household organisation
Emptying bins and light tidying to reduce clutter and hazards.
Tasks are agreed in advance and completed in line with the client’s preferences, capacity, and safety considerations.

To remain compliant and safe, domestic assistance does not include:
Heavy lifting or high-risk manual handling
Home maintenance or trade services
Deep cleaning beyond agreed support scope
Tasks that pose a safety risk to the client or support worker
If something falls outside the agreed support, we’ll talk it through and help explore appropriate alternatives.

Before services begin, we work with clients and their representatives to:
Identify household priorities and routines
Agree on tasks, frequency, and expectations
Consider safety, infection control, and equipment needs
Adjust support as circumstances change
Support is delivered respectfully, with attention to privacy, consent, and dignity at all times

NDIS funding, where household supports are included in the plan
My Aged Care services, depending on eligibility and approvals

We can assist you to understand what’s available and how to access support.

Follow workplace health and safety procedures
Use appropriate cleaning products and PPE
Respect the client’s home, belongings, and privacy
Work within agreed support plans and risk assessments
